UPDATES FOR DSTN, 2005:

September 1st, 2005

The most convenient way, in my opinion, to donate money for disaster releif is via amazon.com. If you have an Amazon account, you just enter your amount and pay with one click. The minimum online donation is only five bucks.

Thank you to Alexandra P for sending in her painting, now on display in the 2005 Gallery!

In case you haven't been to the new board in the past day or so - a new music file (titled "new.mp3") was posted there via an unknown source. The links quickly became inactive. You can now DL the track on share. Just a note, a large bit of the music mixed in comes from a (Vol 2) tribute song by Daniel Sumerlin (again, stimmet) and Adam Birce called "A Gift." There's more in this thread.

August 5th, 2005

Daniel (aka stimmet) e-mailed me some additionl information regarding one of the projects found in the "past" section of the discography: There is a Beast People DVD available from Hanson Records; Daniel says, "the main video is about 30 minutes, its a compilation of beast people performances... the first 5 minutes or so, however, is footage of andrew 'opening' for bp on solo keyboard...it's great and you also see him dancing and jumping around behind them later." The DVD also features a couple of clips that can be found on share. This DVD is available for 13 USD at Time Stereo Web. Look for a "DVD" section to be added to this site soon, with a comprehensive listing of officially available DVD action.

There's a new blog that's all "Andrew WK" all the time called "The Truth About Andrew WK". This, and some other items, have been the buzz of the new message board tonight.

I'm very very very proud to announce that DSTN is now the home of The Most Extensive A.W.K. Discography on the Web, formerly of Party Central. BIG thanks to Dot not only for the research, but also for doing it all up with the html (not my strong suit... and it looks awesome).

And I almost forgot to mention this news, via Taka: The Hellfest 2004 DVD is set to be released on August 23rd. More info as I find it.

August 1st, 2005

Happy Birthday Shane!

There's some new content today at last! Photos from the Indianapolis show in the '05 Photo Gallery, and a writeup of the same show in the Word Gallery, both from Mitchell D N. Enjoy! Coming next: classic photos from the Party Central archives!

Yikes, I need to update bad ... I've got stuff to put up - a pretty good amount of stuff! I will do that soon, I promise... for now I just wanted to make sure that anyone who hasn't done it yet to go to andrewwk.com. Does the website breathe? Who knows, but click through the photos to find a NEW song, "You Will Remember Tonight"!!! and a new message board, basically a whole new site.

And yes, it appears awkworld.com is gone. The vital content is still housed on awkarchive.com.

Mike Edwards sent me some photos from the 3.12.05 show in Pittsburgh; they've been added to the 2005 Gallery.

April 24th, 2005

Photos (by me) from the Rutgers show last night are up in the 2005 Gallery. It was a truly intense experience; the evolution of the live show continues. (Edit - Re: Princeton 5.01: Has NOT been cancelled, but is "students only.")

April 20th, 2005

Lots of WK Fansite news: First, Nikki James, who closed up her huge fansite, "I Get Wet," over a year ago, is returning with a brand new version of the site! It's under construction, but she's got a new Cafepress shop to browse in the meantime.

Anne is also doing a complete renovation of her site, "We Never Stop." It's also under construction, but keep an eye out for the new version, which she is running solo.

If you want to see some photographs from the recent shows in Chicago and Indianapolis, check out Angel's fansite
"The Only Thing I Live For 2."

Also, The S&S04 DVD is available for pre-order NOW. It's 15.95 USD (plus shipping & handling), and if you order before midnight on April 25, you get a free poster of the cover art. You can also dowload free S&S04 Wallpapers, featuring 13 of the bands, including Andrew WK.

April 16th, 2005

Exciting news via Taka (awkoholics.com): The Skate & Surf Fest 2004 DVD will be released on April 26! AWK will be featured with many other S&S04 bands. Preorders start on April 19th. For more information and to view the trailer, CLICK HERE.

Spring tour update: so far, the reported shows have been open to EVERYONE -
Don't stay home because you're not a Cingular member!!!

April 11th, 2005

Today starts a string of April college shows all over the country. It appears that most are connected with Cingular Wireless and are billed as private VIP concerts (just for Cingular customers). I know this has been causing a lot of frustration, but if one of them is near your town, I say just go and look for students who can give you info and help. Don't worry about having to buy a cell phone or switching cell phone plans or any of that, just go - these are still college shows, and I've never heard of a die-hard fan getting shut out at a college show, even with restrictive rules of entry.

Another new fan site in progress: Tribute to AWK and the Band by Brandy. Brandy maintained the Fan Site fot Gregg Roberts, and has decided to expand.

If you live in Tokyo, plan to attend the AWK Birthday Party, hosted by Taka of awkoholics.com. It's planned for the 7th or 8th of May. Email Taka for info (put "No AWK, No Life" in the subject line).

March 27, 2005

New site: ANDREW W.K. & STEEV MIKE INFORMATION PAGE by Ward. A work in progress.

Via AWKWORLD: Upcoming shows in Virginia (4.15) and New Jersey (4.23/5.1)

March 13, 2005

There is still time to submit a track for WOLFITOUT2: The AWK Tribute CD, Volume II! Email Me for information on submitting a track. In the meantime, you can download one of the tracks, Sickboy's "Pardyhard (AWKsome Mix)" as a sneak preview!

I am also looking for someone to help out with the DSTN "Televised" section. If you follow Andrew and the band's TV appearances and like to write, you're needed to help with updates! Take a look at the TV Page and submit updates in that format. I especially need writups on the recent VH1 appearances, as well as ANY appearances that are not on the page, from ANY country! All contributors will be credited. For more info, or to submit TV appearance writeups, drop me a line right here.

February 19th, 2005

Anyone with photos or writeups of last night's show in DC, please feel welcome to send them in!

This is almost a year old, but if (like me) you've only started using itunes more recently, you may not know that Andrew has a playlist up (released in April 2004), all P-Funk! Very cool. Sorry, no link - you have to download itunes to access it.

February 7th, 2005

New web site: AWKArchive.com. It houses the photos and Q&As from awkworld.com, as well as all of the writing from andrewwk.com. Just speculation, but if you haven't already started mentally preparing yourself for the day that the Island Def Jam sites stop working, you might want to consider it... I'm just saying.

You already probably know about the Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA, on (CORRECTION!!) March 12. Again, students only, so get there early and make some new friends.

January 31, 2005

East Coast: AWK will be playing at American University in Washington, DC, on Friday, February 18th. I'm not sure how ticketing works; in the past, non-students had to attend as a guests of an AU student (most of whom have been very accomodating to non-student fans who wanted to get in). If you have different info on entry for this show, let me know.

I've added quite a few new links on the Links page, courtesy of Becky of Music or Die. Interviews, Articles, and some miscellaneous stuff from over the years.
