Not about AWK, but really cool: Ramones fans Check This Out.

(Found via Dr. Frank's What's-It)

November 19, 2004

New photos from "Be Well: Ramones Beat on Cancer" in the 2004 Gallery. Thanks to Elaine! Also check out the photos from the show on the Official Ramones site.

There is also a new artwork photo from Trina (scroll down in the 2004 Gallery), and another NYC photo from Tom & Ann (in the TLASILA Gallery)!

November 11, 2004

Don't forget, Punk Rock Holocaust is out now on DVD! In case you missed hearing about it while it was in production, it's a new slasher flick that takes place during Warped Tour 2003 featuring the gristly movie-murders of many, including Andrew WK.

If that isn't quite enough, next Tuesday, 11/16 is release day for Backyard Wrestling 2: There Goes The Neighborhood on XBox & PS2, where Andrew WK will be one of the featured fighters (you can get a sneak peek here - scroll down. Thanks to "kevlarskills" on the AWKW BBS for the link).

I forgot to mention the Western Washington University show yesterday - it will be tomorrow, 11/12! Everybody who's going, have fun!!!

November 10, 2004

Good news for fans in the NYC area - AWK will be headlining WSOU's holiday show, "(Not So) Silent Night" on December 17th at the RexPlex in Elizabeth, NJ! Blood Brothers, Autumn To Ashes, and Poison the Well are among the other bands that will play. 30% net proceeds will go to the Make A Wish Foundation.

More "Be Well" Photos will be going up SOON!!

October 12, 2004

There are photos from last Friday's benefit in NYC, "Be Well: The Ramones Beat On Cancer" here (registration required), and here. Thanks to Kathy for the links!!

"Take Action 4" is now on sale for only 3.99 USD! AWKWorld clarified that proceeds will go to help the National Hopeline Network fund their new service, 1-877-YOUTHLINE, a peer-to-peer hotline.

September 27, 2004

Thanks to Elaine, there are 26 new photos in the TLASILA Gallery! She got some great shots of everyone in the band.

I'm getting really really excited about Volume 2 of the Tribute CD - there have been some amazing submissions coming in! I just wanted to remind people that there is still time to submit tracks!! There is no set deadline right now, but I would like to try and get it all together over the next month or two.

September 22th, 2004

I added some new pics to the TLASILA Gallery - Thanks to Tom and Ann! Plus one more from Roe!

If you missed the TLASILA radio concert on WFMU yesterday, or want to hear it again, you can listen to it as much as you want on the WMFU Web Site. It's currently on the "Most Recent Archives Page" - look up Brian Turner, Tuesday 9/21/04. TLASILA comes on an hour and a half into the show, and the live music is followed by a lengthly interview. Definitely, definitely check this out!

September 20th, 2004

I just opened a brand new photo gallery devoted to the just-finished TLASILA fall tour. So far there are three pictures from NYC on Saturday night, from Roe. More to come!!

September 19th, 2004

I messed up the WMFU info yesterday - the TLASILA radio concert is this Tuesday, the 21st. The post has been corrected. Thanks to Roe for bringing the error to my attention!

September 18th, 2004

Sorry for the lack of updates! I'm still here! I have been unable to go see To Live And Shave In LA, unfortunately, and I am looking for writeups on any of the TLASILA shows on the September '04 tour (God & Country Rally). If you went, please write about it (I am primarily interested in writeups of the music part of the shows) and Send it in! I'd appreciate it greatly, and will add any writeups to the Word Gallery, unless of course you don't want it put up.

And don't forget that TUESDAY the 21st at 3pm EST, TLASILA will have a live radio concert on WFMU 91.1 radio in the NYC area, and you can also listen to a live stream of it on the WMFU Web Site.

I should also mention that, if you haven't hit AWKShare in a while, there is always more stuff going up... I finally figured out how to make mpegs, and all of the WKCON video footage is now available. You can download all of Crackjaw's set, all of Into The Dementia's set, Andrew's speech, the "I Get Wet" jam, and some bonus footage of Andrew checking out the Jumper Productions boot.

Also, a little more about the "Take Action 4" comp: It now has a release date of October 5th. The "PSA" (Public Sevice Announcement) track is most likely spoken word. According to the listing on the Sub-City Records site (click the title above), it will benefit 1-800-SUICIDE, not the previously mentioned "National Youthline Network." 1-800-SUICIDE is the National Hopeline Network of the Kristin Brooks Hope Center. The compilation can be preordered now and will probably only cost about 5-6 USD.

August 30, 2004

9 new photos added to the 2004 Gallery, of the Warped 10th Anniversary Show. Thanks to Amy!

August 26, 2004

Go to Anne's We Never Stop site NOW to hear the new CoB cover!!!!!!

August 17, 2004

It looks like AWK will have a track called "PSA" on the Take Action 4 CD, to be released September 7th 2004 on Sub City Records. It will benefit the National Youthline Network. See the proposed tracklisting Here. Also! Don't forget that Children of Bodom's "Trashed, Lost, and Strungout" EP will be coming out on August 30th (Finland) on Spinefarm Records. One of the 4 songs on the EP (which will be an enhanced CD) will be a cover of "She Is Beautiful." SIB will also appear on the "Trashed..." CD single, but you'll probably want to get the whole EP. I'm just saying.

August 9, 2004

Click on the new "Live Strong" button to support Liz as she gets ready to cycle many miles in the Ride for The Roses in October, and help raise funds for the Lance Armstrong Foundation!

I haven't gotten a chance to add this info here yet (as I just saw it), but if you haven't see the tour dates for To Live & Shave in LA for September, they are up on AWKWorld. Andrew will be playing drums, as you probably know.

I have been adding and changing things here and there recently... I did an update to the links page today, and linked to a few more downloads on the Televised page.

August 4, 2004

Check out Jumper Productions - these guys made the (to my knowledge) most recent AWK video boot, known as The Texas Bootleg, filmed in Austin on April 28, 2004. This is fantastic footage, filmed with multiple cameras simultanously. You can see some of the footage on their site (follow the link above). You can also download part of it on AWKShare. And while we're on the topic - remember to check AWKShare regularly. I'm just saying.

August 3, 2004

Elaine sent me a few Hellfest pics - they're up in the 2004 Gallery! Roe sent me a pic from WKCon, which I added to My WKC Photo Gallery.

UPDATE: I was sitting here just bumming around on the web, when I remembered that, back in April, after the show at Skate & Surf Fest, Andrew was doing some artwork on this Joey Ramone t-shirt to be auctioned off for the Lymphoma Research Foundation. So I looked for it, and I found it HERE. It's the tenth one down, and check out the others, by artists including Johnny Ramone, Bono, Mark Kostabi, Kitty, and more - very cool.

August 2, 2004

Don't forget the new Japanese Mosh Pit On Disney compilation! It's available now in Japan, and probably will not be released in the US, so it's time to start looking. You can hear a short clip of Andrew's track (The "Mickey Mouse Club March"!) Here (thanks to Taka for the link). This is really worth getting your hands on.

Here's something cool that was posted on the AWKW BBS: There's this band in Ypsilanti called Brandon Wiard and His Army (an indie pop type of thing), and Andrew appears in the video for their song "Miss Michigan". It's pretty cool. Check it out here.

July 30, 2004

I've been adding to the Televised page - I still have a bunch of 2004 appearances to add yet, but I've linked to a few of the video files on AWKShare, and also added 24 Screen Caps from different episodes of Your Friend, Andrew WK. These new caps are thanks to the Your Friend Andrew WK Yahoo TV Group. If you like the show, you should join the Group!

July 29, 2004

AWKSHARE is up and running, and let me tell you, this is big big big big big news for collectors. Josh is compiling this archive of linkable, downloadable audio and video - live boots, TV appearances from around the world, rare tracks, all kinds of good stuff! More files will be added, and you can even upload files to share yourself. It helps if you have a fast connection. I recommend everything in the archive - but if you're looking for a super awesome live audio recording, definitely check out "Breaking Doors," live in Tokyo in May 2002!

July 28, 2004

New additions to the 2004 Photo Gallery: a couple of pictures from Wakefest in Kelowna, BC, from Brandy, and a new offering from Trina! The FAQ has also been updated.

July 26, 2004

Dawn of The World Killer now appears in the Word Gallery. It's possibly even more intense than Shadow, so be sure to check that out if you haven't read it yet.

Two items have been added to the WKCon Swag page, including Anne's famous "I ♥ AWK" bracelet!

July 20, 2004

New additions to the 2004 Photo Gallery - some GREAT pics from Christie from the Providence, RI, show in May, and I also added Trina's newest AWK collage!

I will be adding content from the late Party Central site (thanks again to Dot) gradually over the next however long it takes... today I put up Klaus Steevnson's "Shadow of the Wolf Kult", one of the most influential pieces of AWK fan writing out there, in the Word Gallery. I'll also put up its long-awaited sequel, "Dawn of the World Killer", which is featured in the Death By Eyeplay zine. "Shadow", by the way, also appears on Wolf Slicer Dot Com - see if you can find it!

July 16, 2004

I finally got the WolfKultCon 2004 page done. It's broken up into sections with photos, band info, the WKC story, and an online shop where you can get any or all of the cool stuff that was given out at WKC yourself! Also look for the free downloads of the candy wrapper .pdfs, so you can make your own customized Kit Kat bars!

July 12, 2004

I just added some photos from Christie to the 2004 Gallery - check them out!

Word on the street is AWK will be playing the Warped Tour in Foxboro, MA, on August 20th, so keep an eye out for info on that.

July 10, 2004

It's true... Josh tells me that Erik returned for Wakefest in Kelowna, BC! Very excellent. John was filling in for Ken, and Rich sat in for DT. Both Ken and DT will be back, from what I understand.

July 9, 2004

I'm working on a few things here... while I'm doing that, check out Elaine's WKC pics!

June 28, 2004

WKCON was a blast! A total success! Thanks to everyone who helped out and showed up, and of course a huge Thank You to Andrew! I will write more about it soon, but for now, see what Andrew said about it on AWKWorld and wewantfun.com! I took a handful of pictures, which you can see here. There is more to come, including WKC video! People who weren't able to attend will also be able to get their own WKC tees, zines, and more - I'll be putting up info on that soon!

UPDATE: Check out Liz & Brian's WKC pics!

May 27, 2004

This is a bit belated, but -- WELCOME JOHN!

John Sutton of Pain Principle is the new AWK guitarist. He is taking the place of Erik Payne. We wish Erik all the best - he will be missed.

ALSO - If you luck out and the stage is big enough at the venue, you can see Rich join DT on drums! Double drums! Very awesome.

May 25, 2004

New photos in the 2004 Gallery! Some shots from St. Andrew's in Detroit in April from Mattrock, plus some aftershow shots from Nicole and Josh. More to come. Also, check out the Word Gallery, where there is a new show writeup from Brandy.

Anne told me to check this out, and you should too - the Photos section on Most Precious Blood's Official site. Lots of cool photos of MPB as well as of other bands they've toured with, including AWK. Which reminds me - AWK (and MPB) are confirmed for Hellfest, July 23-25 in Elizabeth, NJ!

May 21, 2004

Sorry the updates have been light (OK, nonexsistant) lately - it's not for lack of things to put up, and I'll be getting it up soon. With just a little over a month till WKCon, I've been busy.

I got an e-mail from Taka today, though, that spurred an update: there new relase information out of Japan! On July 28th, AVEX TRAX in Japan will release a compilation album (only available in Japan, but is that going to stop you?) called "Mosh Pit On Disney," and Andrew WK is one of the artists appearing on it. Yes, it will be a cover of a Disney song, though the press release didn't release info on which songs will be covered. Other artists appearing include The Vandals, Reel Big Fish, Acidman, and American HiFi. Thanks for the info, Taka!

Don't forget to set your VCR to MTV2 tomorrow night (Saturday) at 9pm EST for the premiere of "Your Friend, Andrew WK"!

May 9, 2004

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANDREW WK!
And Happy Mother's Day, too. :)

May 8, 2004

I just wanted to post a quick GET WELL to the whole band, who I hear have all been sick lately, and especially to Gregg, who I just found out was in the hospital this week. Feel Better!

May 4, 2004

I've got a boatload of new photos to put up, I just have to get them thumbnailed. In the meantime, check out this great new South Korean AWK Fan Site by Mijin! (note to Mijin: I tried to reply to your e-mail, and it came back - I'll try again later!)

April 24, 2004

Dot at Party Central has announced, officially, that she will no longer maintain the site. What can I say? I always considered PC to be the site I wished I could pull off, and it always inspired me to make this site the best I could. I'm extremely honored and excited that dontstopthenoise.com will be "inhereting" a lot of the PC content. You should be seeing the merge starting in the next couple of months. Til then, if you haven't spent time on PC, or haven't in a while, go visit it while you can.

April 24, 2004

Elaine's Pictures from the Lancaster, PA show on the 17th are up in the 2004 Gallery. Towson photos coming soon.

April 23, 2004

I will be adding screencaps (via Nick) to the televised section. The first have been put up - caps from "The Rock n Roll Hall of Fame" and "Crashing With Andrew WK." Check em out. I also added another 2003 Canadian appearance, thanks to Brandy!

April 21, 2004

T2 is now available!! Josh just finished formatting the video he shot at the 4/18/04 show in Towson, MD - an hour and 18 minutes of awesome live footage in MPEG form on a CD. If you want a copy, e-mail Josh. And you know you want a copy.

Here's a cool link to a feature on The Wigmaker in Eighteenth Century Williamsburg.

April 20, 2004

Interesting stuff on AWKWorld today, in case you haven't read it yet.

I went to Skate & Surf Fest and the Towson, MD show over the weekend, and had a BLAST. Times two, times a thousand. We met with some challenges, especially in Towson, but you know and I know that they can never get us down! BIG THANKS to Big Daddy for being there for us Sunday night.

OK, so I 'm doing this thing right now where I'm not taking a lot of pictures, since I spent the whole time during the fall shows photographing. So for spring, I'm just enjoying the shows and being there in the moment. So no live photos from me, but I will be getting some photos soon from Towson and, I think, Skate & Surf. I did just add a couple of offstage photos to the 2004 Gallery from after the S&S show, of some new friends Andy D, Sean, Sarah, and Adam with Andrew, so go check those out!

April 14, 2004

Go watch the new "Your Rules" video NOW. Also, it's time to print out some flyers and hit the bricks!

More later.

UPDATE: Mattrock's photos are up! Look in both the 2003 & 2004 Galleries! Photos from Toledo and Detroit last year, and Ann Arbor this year.

April 13, 2004

OK! I've been adding some new stuff... I finally got all of the official I Get Wet Album lyrics up, and there's a new section devoted to AWK TV appearances from 2002 till now. The Discography section is under construction.

New pictures from Mattrock will be going up SOON!

April 5, 2004

Whoa man... Intoxicated, Pain Principle, and Wolf Eyes are among the supporting bands for the AWK Never Ending Spring Break Madness Party Tour (AWKNESBMPT)!! Also: The Locust, Sworn Enemy, The International Noise Conspiracy, Fireball Ministry, No Motiv, Jersey, and Chronic Future. Not sure yet who'll be playing where - keep an eye on AWKWorld.com.

April 2, 2004

There will be a chat tonight at 7:00 pm in the chatroom (above). Everyone is welcome. The main topic will be the direction of the WKCon.

The Canadian band moneen will be playing Skate & Surf Fest on the 17th (Saturday), so if you're hanging around the whole weekend, check them out! The band features Erik from Steel Dragon, who did a "Party Hard" cover for the Tribute CD. Haris, another Steel Dragon and a contributor to this site, is their guitar tech. They are touring all over Canada and the US for the next couple of months, so check out their tour dates!

March 24, 2004

I added a few things to the 2003 and 2004 Galleries, two more from Roe, one from Elaine, and I also stuck the birthday card posted on the BBS in 2004. Thanks again for the birthday wishes!

In case you didn't see, Vancouver has been added to the spring tour! Also, I noticed while browsing Interpunk that AWK will be featured on the Warped 2003 DVD, coming out this June!

March 16, 2004

OK, the spring US Tour schedule is posted! AWK will be all over the country from mid-April through early June! Skate & Surf is still lined up.

New fan site: AWKHOLICS! This site is by a fan named Taka in Japan, and can be accessed in both Japanese and English. Definitely check it out!

March 5, 2004

The March shows with Thursday have been cancelled. I'm not 100% sure what's going on with S&S yet... but it'll all work out.

March 1, 2004

After over a year, there's a new story in the Word Gallery! It's by Jeff, and it's been a long time coming, centering around the April 15th, 2002 Irving Plaza show. Well worth the wait.

February 28, 2004

New pictures in the 2003 and 2004 Galleries! In 2003, there are two photos of Roe and her son Mike (or Mike and his Mom Roe, depending on how you look at it) with Andrew. Scroll all the way down the page. In 2004, there are some new pics from Anne and from Becky, both at Sponaneous Combustion in Ann Arbor earlier this month.

Till Justin's VL site is back up, you can find out about the Death By Eyeplay Zine on this Temporary Page.

February 17, 2004

Got tired of the other banner. I am still looking for an onstage photo with the whole current band in it, though! Thanks to Jenn N. for the pics used in the new banner; you can see them whole in the 2002 Gallery.

Justin L's Violent Life site is on an apparently unplanned hiatus. If you're interested in the "Death By Eyeplay" zine, you can get info about it through the WolfKultCon Yahoo Group.

February 13, 2004

First, new US club dates for March! I know some of these places have been chomping at the bit, too: Fargo, Des Moines, Chicago, Toledo, Niagra, and my personal favorite, Towson, MD. But wait, there's more - Skate & Surf Fest, Asbury Park, NJ, April 16. Yep. AWK will be back.

Qingzi in Sapporo, Japan, sent me some great links! Excite Japan's AWK Page, which has some nice photos and a short video message from Andrew; This page that links to Andrew's live AOL Session (I think you need AOL or Compuserv to access it); and Just Concerts AWK Page featuring the June 10, 2002 show at Richards on Richards in Vancouver. Legendary show - if you haven't checked this out yet, definitely do.

I also added one picture to the 2003 Gallery, of Mel (who happens to be Nick's sister) with Andrew in Dublin last September.

And I think that's it for now! Oh, except for one thing: Thanks, Nikki, for everything!

January 27, 2004

Quite a few new photos in the galleries: I finally got Elaine's Baltimore pictures up, plus a few of Anne's from Cleveland (check out her site, We Never Stop, for more), in the 2003 Gallery. New for the 2004 Gallery you'll find a few pictures from Christie, who will be featured in an episode of MTV2's "Your Friend, Andrew WK"!

AWK4Life has officially been launched! This is the project that my good friend Liz is working on with Andrew. It's still in the early stages, and it's going to be great! Check it out!

Justin has started a special page for the AWK Zine Death By Eyeplay. It's planned to be released at WKCon.

January 12, 2004

Via Anne: Andrew will be hosting an event called "Spontaneous Combustion" at the Michigan Theater in Ann Arbor on February 19th. I really don't know what this is, exactly, but tickets are on sale now at Ticketmaster.

In an attempt to defray the costs of the Tribute CDs, I just opened a new shop where you can buy Trib CD merchandise featuring Nick's cover art. Check it out! And while we're on the subject, there's still plenty of time to submit a track for Volume 2!

January 11, 2004

I had been asked about this, and I wasn't 100% sure, but now I am: Andrew is back on his feet on stage and is no longer using the wheelchair. Excellent.

January 10, 2004

Nick sent me some pictures from Warped in Japan, taken just a couple of hours ago... man, I love the internet. They are the very first photos to grace the brand new 2004 Gallery!

Brad hipped me to a quote in the new AMP Magazine interview mentioning the Trib CD. Very cool. I put it on the Trib CD Page.

January 9, 2004

The new header photo is totally (and poorly) doctored. I put two of Elaine's Allentown pictures together to make it, cause I really like the band shot, but Andrew wasn't visible (you can actually see Andrew's back behind the superimposed Andrew - I said it was poorly done!). I wanted another band shot with Ken in it to top the page, so there ya go. However, I really want a real, undoctored shot of the full band (including DT - I attempted to add him, too but it didn't work). Consider this a mission. Get me a full shot of the current lineup (or if you happen to have one), and I'll send you some cool stuff. Send to holly@dontstopthenoise.com

UPDATE: I was thinking about it, and I'll also accept a well-done photomanipulation for the header... I just don't have the skills. That's what I get for going to art school before digital art was taken seriously.

January 6, 2004

I've been doing some "maintenance" updating... the Links page is updated and improved, the FAQ includes current band info - just basically cleaning the place up. Now I just have to update the front page here... I know, the Holidays are over.

January 1, 2004

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
