UPDATES FOR DSTN IN 2003:

December 17, 2003

Scroll down to see the banner Nick made for the recent shows in Tokyo! I have more Tokyo pics, I just have to thumbnail them... and I haven't forgotten about the other Baltimore pics, they'll all be coming soon. There's also a new link - check out the Andrew WK Japanese Fun Site!

Anne made some priceless Holiday graphics for We Never Stop - go check them out!

In case you somehow haven't heard, the New Year's show in San Fransico has been cancelled. Bummer.

December 12, 2003

Feed your need for fan-made paraphanalia:

If you like your AWK t-shirts to be deliciously cryptic and obscure, you have another chance to get your hands on the classic Eyeplay t-shirt at Dot's place (aka PC). The best part is, it's for a worthy cause.

Roman wants your feedback on a new shirt design featuring Amira's comic-style drawings of each of the band members. Vote in the poll at www.silenceproductions.net.

There are more pictures coming, once I get time to scan them.

December 4, 2003

Go to FilmMagic.com for photos from the First Annual Video Game Awards Show on December 2nd, which is airing TONIGHT at 9 pm on Spike TV. Thanks to Kathy and Elaine for the link. Scroll down to the 4th row to find the pics... (they also have other recent events, including the L.A. LOTR ROTK Premiere - cool).

December 3, 2003

Check out these two sites for lots of AWK photos from the Stone Pony show in Asbury Park on November 29th: silenceproductions.net and realmagictv.com. You have to register to view the pictures on realmagictv.com, but it's worth it - and there is more to come on both sites!

December 1, 2003

Well, it's December, and the site is decorated for the holidays. Up above you'll see Tom & Ann with Andrew in their Santa hats, Leigh Ann's great AWK Santa graphic from last year's Christmas card, and Tracy and Kathy giving Andrew their giant card last year. Happy Holidays!

Don't forget, this Thursday night on Spike TV, AWK will be performing on the Video Game Awards show! Check your local listings for the time.

November 26, 2003

To friends here in America, Happy Thanksgiving!

New photos up in the photo gallery - my Baltimore pictures from Nov. 13 (which was, btw, Jimmy's last show); Elaine's Allentown pics from Nov. 19 (this site's first set featuring Ken on guitar); and a new Tom and Ann photo with Andrew from last week's Hartford show. I have more Baltimore pics, from Elaine, which I'll scan and get up asap, most likely after the holiday.

As you probably know, Andrew is nursing a broken foot after a mishap at the Los Angeles House of Blues show a few days ago. So far, he's been continuing on with the tour normally, allegedly performing in a wheelchair. Get well soon, Andrew, and take it easy!

If you're planning on going to the show at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park on Saturday, I'll see ya there!

November 21, 2003

Sorry about the lack of updates lately, it's been a crazy time, and I've been nursing a nasty cold. Anyway, I just added a few photos from by Wayne Dennon, of a recent show where Andrew wore the "Race For The Cure" shirt from Liz. He was kind enough to let me use a couple. Be sure to check out his website: waynedennon.com.

My Baltimore pics will be up soon!

November 10, 2003

OK. Baltimore is ON again for this Thursday the 13th. At the Ottobar. Hoobastank is not on the bill - it looks as though AWK is headlining. The show appears to be 18+.

November 8, 2003

Justin L has made an AWK crossword puzzle, it's big fun. Over at VL, of course.

November 6, 2003

The 11/13 Baltimore show has been cancelled. It's a bummer - hope everyone who was planning to go can make it to another show or two this month!

November 5, 2003

Just put up a couple of new offstage pics from Tom & Ann... one from the Warsaw... good times... and one from the WFMU interview at the Museum of TV & Radio in Manhattan.

November 2, 2003<

Luke of batmancrazyfoam.com invited me to take pictures from his gallery of photos from the Halloween AWK show in Columbia, MO, for the DSTN Gallery! They're great. Click on the link to his site to see the full gallery, as well as galleries of other bands, including The Eels, Kill Hannah, and Better Than Ezra.

November 1, 2003

The November 19th show is now set for Allentown, PA. A State College, PA, show has also been added for Dec 1.

October 31, 2003

Happy Halloween!

I've got some new pictures from Wendy in the 2003 Gallery, from the Social in Orlando in September. If you remember when this site was a wee thing just starting out, Wendy was one of the very first people (along with Kim) to give me a pictures to put up. Just a little DSTN history for ya.

New show on the schedule: Baltimore, October 13th at Thunderdome! Tickets are on sale now on ticketmaster.com. I'm there already, waiting. But not really. There seems to be some kind of snafu with the Irving Plaza NYC 11/19 date... not sure yet if it's another disappearing date on AWKWorld that will reappear or if it's cancelled or postponed or what. No tickets on sale at this point, when I find out more, I'll update.

October 28, 2003

I didn't take a lot of pictures at The Warsaw last Friday night, but I did get a few, and if you'd like to see them, they're up in the 2003 Gallery. It was a great night!

October 23, 2003

Tour Dates have been updated. Lots to look forward to around here! For you West Coasters, there are a few dates not on AWKWorld as I write this: Shows at The House(s) of Blues in Hollywood and Anaheim in late November, and a New Year's Bash at The Great American Music Hall in San Francisco. The December Japan dates are also up!

October 20, 2003

Dot's got last night's radio interview - most of it, anyway - check it out!

Tonight's radio interview can be accessed online at www.wmfu.org, from 7-8 PM EST. If you're in the NY area, you can listen on the radio on WFMU, 91.1FM in the NY/NJ area and 90.1FM in the Hudson Valley of NY.

October 13, 2003

Added some nice new black & white photos from Jenn, taken last year in Portland. Look for them in the 2002 Gallery.

So I guess the Punk Parade thing didn't air again. I'm not sure what's up with that.

There are a couple of new fan sites up - Andrew WK's Army by Ryan, and this one that was posted on the BBS by someone using the ID AWKexperiencer. Check em out.

Just a reminder: I'm still collecting tribute songs, for Volume 2 of the AWK Tribute CDs. I've gotten some great tracks, keep em coming!

October 7, 2003

First, new photos in the 2003 gallery from Elaine (NYC) and Haris (Toronto)!

I had some technical difficulties over the past week that kept me from updating, so forgive the less than brand new news:

AWK will return to the East Coast in late October for a few dates in VA, NY, and DC. Specific info is in the Upcoming Shows section. I'll be at the Brooklyn show on the 24th for sure.

Scott finished his second piece on AWK, an article based on his September interview with Andrew. He also spoke to a few fans for the article (including me - eek!) and wrote a bit about the almost legendary night at Birch Hill last year. Right here.

The Punk Parade premiere featuring Andrew as host is now going to air on early Sunday, October 12 at 1:30 am (late Saturday night) on cable's Spike TV. Set your VCRs!

September 23, 2003

Another new interview to check out, this time on suicidegirls.com. This is an Adult website, just so you know, although the interview itself is not "adult oriented." It's quite good - go read.

September 22, 2003

The 24 Hour Signing Marathon in Japan over the weekend was a success!

Scott C (not to be confused with Empyre Lounge Scott) just finished a lengthy interview with Andrew. Part 1 is now up on his site. There will be 5(!) parts in all, a new one posted each night this week at Midnight. Next week, fyi, Scott'll be featuring his interview with Kerry King from Slayer, and he's also working of another AWK piece for Collector Times Online next month.

September 20, 2003

Who cares if the gas company and the landlord don't get it? You need these.

September 18, 2003

AWK is the September Band of The Month over at Empyre Lounge. Most of the stuff comes from the Philly show at the TLA last week - an interview (with the answers in audio!), reviews, and photos. I met the writer/photog, Scott, briefly at the show - he did a great job!

Justin L was the first fan site dude to report that Andrew will be doing a 24-hour signing marathon for the recordbooks this weekend in Tokyo. The info is also on the official Japanese site, but I don't read Japanese, and the translator program I use on it translates to English funkily. If any of our friends in Japan knows where this will be, drop me a line.

September 16, 2003

Just put up a bunch of my Philly pics from the 11th. Coming very soon, more photos from Haris and Elaine.

I also sent a few Irving Plaza NYC pics to Anne and Brad for their new site, We Never Stop... they're up now, none appear on this site! Also, make sure to read the interview they did recently with Andrew, it's really excellent.

September 12, 2003

Yes, the Tribute CD is now available! Only $2, to help cover my expenses. Just click on the "Tribute CD" button above.

Philly pics coming soon! I have to thank Trevor for helping me with the photo passes that made it possible for me to get up close and photograph it (NYC, too), and to the security guy in Philly for being cool!

September 11, 2003

My Irving Plaza Photos are up now in the Photo Gallery. Tonight's the Philly show! Woo hoo!

September 4, 2003

Added lots of new photos from Anne in Michigan, including pictures from the Bulb 10 Year Anniversary Party and VWT '03 Detroit. Also check out Anne and Brad's new fan site, We Never Stop!

August 26, 2003

Added 15 new photos from the show at the Engine Room in Houston on the 18th from Liz & Brian!

August 25, 2003

If you haven't visited Universal's Japanese AWK site, you're missing out on some cool stuff, including an audio clip of "Long Live The Party," which is a remake of "Dance Party" and will appear on The Wolf. There are also some way cool video clips in the "Special" section. Probably lots of other good stuff, but I unfortunately can't read Japanese. Thanks to Becky D, for pointing out the audio clip, and to Jenn for info on the videos.

More on that Furnace Fest 2002 DVD... I got it, and I recommend it. The "Party Hard" footage from the Tear It Up DVD is on it, however it is edited a bit differently, and it is the full song, in addition to three others from AWK: "It's Time To Party," "Take It Off," and "Ready To Die." This was an incredible show, and the footage of all 24 bands is awesome, so it's well worth the money. The link to order it is in the 8/21 update below.

August 21, 2003

New photos in the 2003 Gallery, thanks to Alycia, Liz, and Brad (aka AndrewWK4President). As always, there is more to come!

AWK appear on the official Furnace Fest 2002 DVD, now available Here for $20. It's a double disc with 24 bands in all.

The Tribute CDs are just about ready to go... info on how to get a copy will be added to the Trib CD page very soon, so keep an eye on it.

Philly pics coming soon!!

Justin L has some info on how if you're one of the first 250 people to pre-order The Wolf on Amazon.com, Andrew will call you on the phone. Then I guess there'll be a thing on AWKWorld where you enter a code from your CD and more fans will be called. Just read the article linked from VL.

August 11, 2003

If you're in the London area in the UK, make sure to check the news on AWKWorld! There is a photo shoot TOMORROW afternoon, and it's open to the fans. Click the link for details.

I'm in the process of adding a Lyrics Page, since Nick sent me the Official Lyrics from the Japanese IGW CD a while ago. There is more to come, and it's nothing but the plain text right now, but check them out! No button yet... one will be added as soon as I get that font again. Or change the font, or something.

August 7, 2003

Just playing around with the page here today... bear with me. And don't forget to check out "Never Let Down" on AWKWorld's A/V Page!

July 31, 2003

Just added Liz's Houston VWT pics to the 2003 Gallery!

July 24, 2003

Added some new photos to the gallery, courtesy of Nik, from the VWT show in Selma, TX.

There are a load of new show listings (club shows!) I'll be adding today. Some of the tickets will be available for presale directly through AWKWorld.

July 18, 2003

First, some show news: Nevermind what the VWT sites says, AWK is confirmed for the August 3rd Warped show in Detroit. If you were just then wishing I had said "Louisville" instead of "Detroit," you're in luck: They'll be playing Krazy Fest on August 2nd in Kentucky. Get your info at krazyfest.com.

To everyone who's been wondering when these East Coast club dates are going to turn up, there will be one in NYC on Sept 9th, the day the CD comes out. Talk about Best Day Ever. A Philly show will happen right around that time, as well.

Now onto the Con... it will be in November, around a club show in Philly. It will rule. If you havn't joined the WK CON Yahoo Group yet and are thinking about going, I highly recommend you sign up now. I'll tell you right now: space will be limited.

Finally, I wanted to point out some cool sightings on the "Tear It Up" DVD: In some of the backstage parts, Gregg is wearing a Busch Barbarians t-shirt, made by Lindy. I'm assuming that was Skate & Surf Fest in Asbury Park, NJ in April, where he wore it on stage. In another part, Andrew is coughing, and there is a flyer on the wall behind him designed by Emily. They've both got their pictures in the DSTN photo gallery. You can also check out more of Emily's stuff at bentcomics.com. I don't know who made the paper fan Andrew was showing off in one part ("The Six Samurai"), but damn. Give it!

July 16, 2003

Added Becky's Cincinatti VWT '03 pics and The Dan's "AWK Fridays" flyer to the gallery. You'll notice that I've split the gallery up into two (actually three, counting the Towson 12/20/02 page). Any pictures from 2003 are now in the 2003 gallery; the rest remain in the 2002 gallery. Photos will be added according to the date they were taken, not the date I get them.

Don't forget, the new "Tear It Up" CD/DVD is out now, so pick up a copy! Also, if you haven't caught it, AWK will be featured on an MTV VWT thing today at 6:30 pm EST.

July 11, 2003

Finally added those Buffalo VWT '02 pics from Becky D - check them out. She's also sent me some new pics from VWT '03, coming soon... when I add those, I'll be splitting the gallery in two (three, counting the Towson page) - one for 2002, and one for 2003. Oh, and I still have to transcribe the Japanese lyric sheet. It's been a busy couple of weeks!

June 26, 2003

Check out the Audio/Video section at the new awkworld, and listen to the full version of "Tear It Up All Night"!!

Becky's pictures should be up, but I had to waste a bunch of my time today re-configuring the Con Yahoo Group so that there is some degree of moderation on it.

June 25, 2003

Wow, it looks like I switched photos just in time... The same photo of Andrew jumping that I had here (legally, by the way - it was among the pictures offered for fan site use through the Slammers last year) is now on the front page of awkworld. The site's had a total overhaul... much better, I think, at least visually. Oh, and speaking of The Slammers, did you notice that the Online Team is now called "The Wolves"?

June 24, 2003

Cool picture, huh? I figured it was time for a change. The old photo had been up here for over a year(!), except for a few weeks during Christmastime when the bloody nose Santa was up. So yeah. This photo is from Nick, who's keeping an eye out for all things AWK in Japan. He tells me it's carbonated tomato juice. I don't care if that sounds gross, it is now your official beverage.

Becky D just sent me some photos for the Gallery. I'm going to be good and put them up as soon as possible, no foolin'. Oh yeah, and Nick also sent me the all of the official lyrics from the Japanese release of the IGW. I'll put those up, too. It's always fun to find out that you've been belting out the wrong words for a year and a half :).

June 18, 2003

If you haven't seen it, check out the preview of the new "Tear It Up All Night" CD Single/DVD coming out on July 15 on awkworld (the link is in the little popup). Awesome! Thanks to Nicole for tipping us off on the Con Yahoo Group.

Don't forget to check those AWKCON eBay Auctions! There's still a day left on most of the current listings.

Also, I've added a couple of Off-Topic links, just because, well, I can.

June 9, 2003

Damn, it's been a while... sorry for the lack of updates. I just got a new computer, though, so every aspect of my online/computer life is now much smoother. Ahh.

Anyway. If you read in the Philadelphia Inquirer that AWK was going to be playing Warped in Philadelphia on June 8 at the Tweeter Center (like I did), forget about it, it's not true. They are NOT scheduled for the Philly Warped show. The Inky's editor should resign over that, I think. ;)

Tavis tells me that this brilliant Brian Fukushima comic about discovering AWK (among others) was published in the most recent issue of Broken Pencil Magazine. Right on!

May 25, 2003

Added two new pics, from Becky D and Krystoll Meth.

In case you noticed, the upgrade on the message board had lapsed for a week or two, so there was a deluge of ads if you happened to enter it during that time. Sorry. I got it taken care of!

May 9, 2003

Happy Birthday Andrew!

May 8, 2003

More new pics! I added a bunch from Jaymi, and finally put up some of my own photos from Lancaster in December.

Don't forget to keep checking the AWKCON eBay Auctions! I just listed a few things, including a dontstopthenoise.com t-shirt.

May 5, 2003

Finally got my scanner working again, so - new pics! I've added 14 new photos from Jenn, taken in Orlando in March. More to come!!

April 18, 2003

The AWK Con (or WolfKultCon, or whatever we wind up calling it) is now planned for October 2003. For more info, check out the Con Yahoo Group. Also, a few AWKCON eBay Auctions have gone up. All proceeds of these auctions will go to the Con Fund. You can also make a direct donation via PayPal - see the "WK Con" page linked below.

I have a mess of photos to put up, hopefully within the next week.

April 9, 2003

VCR Alert: The AXE House Party TV Show (featuring AWK, among others) will air TONIGHT at 10:00 PM ET/PT, and again next Saturday night (April 19) at Mdnight ET/PT on TNN.

April 9, 2003

My sister hipped me to these pictures from the May 26, 2002 Motherfucker Party in NYC. I don't know how long they've been there (it says "New"), but if you haven't seen them yet, check em out.

April 2, 2003

Those interested in the fan convention, join the AWK Con Yahoo Group for information, updates, and/or to be involved with the planning and fundraising efforts, including the eBay AWKCON auctions, coming soon!

Check out Kelly's new AWK site, HEISAFWK. Just a warning: don't drink anything while exploring it. Your nose will thank you.

March 24, 2003

A couple of updates to the links page: First, Elaine's site, formerly known as "Andrew WK: He Is Beautiful," is now called Never Let Down. It's still got the same cool content and photos, and the site address is the same.

Also, I've added Becky D.'s website, Becky D World, to the links. Find out all about Becky's own musical work, including the AWK-inspired song "Angel in My Ear," and she's also got some of her photos with Andrew on there. Check it out!

March 24, 2003

Just wanted to send out some well wishes for Justin Payne, son of Erik, today. Get well soon!

March 16, 2003

Thanks to Jenn for the info on Springfest. AWK will be performing, along with other acts including The Roots and The Used, April 24th in Buffalo.

Nick sent this to me last week, and you probably already know, but I'm slow. Rolling Stone did a feature on the new album. Speaking of Nick - LIVE IT, LOVE IT, 3/18 GLOBAL FIRE TOKYO!!

March 12, 2003

In case you haven't seen it yet: violentlife.com. Not to be confused with Justin's fan site, although you need to be checking in there, too.

BULB RECORDS will be celebrating their 10 Year Anniversary in April, and are celebrating with a weekend long bash! It will be in Detroit, at The Magic Stick, on April 25-26. AWK are among the featured acts, as well as Quintron, Demolition Doll Rods, MC Trachiotomy, Wolf Eyes, 25 Suaves, and many more! For more info, Click Here.

March 9, 2003

You probably know this by now, but the The Manly Oracle interview didn't happen last Thursday night. There was bad weather and a flight delay, but in any event, the interview did get done on Friday, and will be aired next Thursday the 13th from 10:00 pm to midnight. Some clips might show up on the TMO site before then, so keep an eye out. Word is, Andrew will still be calling in on Thursday to take questions as well.

March 5, 2003

Andrew will be appearing on The Manly Oracle Internet Show tomorrow night, Thursday March 6, from 10:00 pm to Midnight EST! Just click on the link to either the Hi-Fi or Lo-Fi port. You can ask questions during the show by AIM, e-mail, or phone (see site for info).

March 1, 2003

A real update, finally! OK, a few things:

First, you've got to check out Violent Life, Justin's new AWK fan site! He's got a music file section where you can download "Freejumps" if you haven't already (and if you haven't, you must!). He's also already proving to be a good source of news. The site's also been added to the links section.

I've added a new page, devoted to the upcoming AWK Tribute CD. Click on the button below, next to AWK Con.

Speaking of the Con... sorry there's been no new info, but it's still on! The date and venue are still pending. If you've volunteered and think we've forgotten you, we haven't! If you want to volunteer, click on the AWK Con button below.

One new photo has been added to the Photo Gallery... Jimmy sent Tom a picture of the two of them on the bus at Skatefest in Worcester, MA, last year, and Tom sent it over! Check it out!

February 20, 2003

Took down the banner. Why it started flashing an ad with some girl's ass at the top of the site, I don't know, but I'm looking in Island's general direction.

February 10, 2003

Japan dates for March are up!

February 10, 2003

Added a little Valentine's Day cheer below... what better picture to feature than Liz and Brian's Polaroid from Tampa? Feel the love!

February 5, 2003

I've been adding stuff to both the Towson 12/20/02 Photo Page and the Photo Gallery. Look for new pics from Tom and Ann, Liz, Tracy & Kathy, and Lydia.

January 24, 2003

Finally, I've added the rest of the photos so far to the Towson 12/20/02 Photo Page. Check it out! Added were Elaine's pics, including her offstage photo of her niece Jamie with Andrew, my one offstage pic, and Lindy's offstage pics. If you've got any photos to add, Send them my Way.

January 22, 2003

Three words: Kit Kat Commercial. Keep an eye out for it.

Two more words: Warped Tour. AWK is on the roster for 2003. There are dates up on the Vans Warped Tour '03 Page.

Now, back to Skate & Surf Fest in Asbury Park: AWK is slated for Friday, April 25th. You can get your single day passes through Ticketmaster starting January 31st.

January 17, 2003

OK, I've got some info on Skate and Surf Fest 2003, which will take place in Asbury Park, NJ, April 25-27. AWK is slated to play, but I don't know on what day yet. 3-Day pass tickets go on sale today at 3:00 PM through Ticketmaster. Tickets for the individual days go on sale January 31st. There will hopefully be more info on what day they'll be playing by then.

Oh, yeah, and that reminds me... I added teampain.com to the links section the other day, because it's got some cool Intoxicated stuff on it. Or, if you need a skate park designed. Either way.

I also need to get info up on the AWK Tribute CD that's being planned... if you have an AWK cover or tribute song and would like to be a part of it, Let me know.

January 16, 2003

I added a short new entry to the Word Gallery from Nicolas. It's actually an e-mail he sent, but I liked it enough to put it up (and not just because he praised the site!)

More info on the NIU show in February: Tickets go on sale on Febrary 3rd; Tickets will be $13 for non-students. Contact NIU Box Office at (815)753-3146, CAB concerts at www.niu.edu/cab.

January 14, 2003

Last minute VCR Alert: Andrew will be on "How To Live Like A Rock Star" on MTV TONIGHT at 7:00 pm EST.

January 6, 2003

Been working on the Towson Photo Page... there's still more to add, but you can take a peek here.

About the free show in Miami on March 3rd... it's free, yes, but it's private. 100 American and 10 Canadian winners will get plane tix to Miami and entry to the party for one. To enter, go to axehouseparty.com. You have to be over 18. There's also some game where you have to score with a bunch of chicks where I guess you can get additional entries.

You might have better luck if you can get to Illinois - AWK will be playing at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, IL on February 21! Tickets will only be available through the university, but they will be available online. When they're available, I'll let you know.

January 6, 2003

Be sure to catch the Rockline Radio show tonight! If you don't know which station it's on in your area, click the link in the "News" section below. Also, the two January show dates have been confirmed for Tampa and Atlanta, January 17th and 18th!

January 2, 2003

Still working on the photo update... it's not that it's hard, it's just a combination of being busy with other crap, recovering from an insane holiday season, and a touch of laziness. BUT this is cool: I know a lot of people have been looking for/trying to figure out the lyrics to "Take It Off." It's even a FAQ. Today I got an email from Mary, letting me know that the Japanese Import CD of "I Get Wet" does have a lyric sheet, in both English and Japanese. And she has it. So here they are, the lyrics to Take It Off. They've replaced my lame answer in the FAQ section as well.

January 1, 2003

Happy New Year!

I'm still working on thumbnails and such for the new photo gallery additions, so bear with me. I do have something new, though. I got the new Jane Magazine the other day. Shut up. So they have this article called "Places To Go Before You Die - Ditch the guidebooks and let these random celebs show you around their towns." Andrew is featured, talking about Tampa. You can buy the mag, or just click here to see the blurb.
