Hey guys! I see all these great write ups about shows on the site so I thought I would contribute my share as well. Bare with me though...this is the first one I have ever done. So if its crappy hehe at least you can always just scroll and read the good parts.
Anyway it took a long time but the day of the concert had finally come. My friend Jenn and I left from Vancouver for Seattle at about 2:30... this was only a small road trip but it was still fun. We ended up arriving in Seattle at about 4:30 or 5. Of course not knowing the area that well we made some slight detours downtown by accident and we got pretty lost...it turned out to be all good cause we finally saw the bus and found Neumos (the club where the show was at).
The show didn't start til 7 however so we knew we had some time kill. Both of us hadn't seen much of Seattle before so we decided to walk around and do a bit of sight seeing. It really seems like a great city! Anyway we killed some time window shopping and looking at stuff and grabbing a bite to eat at KFC. Finally it is time to line up for the show... so we head back to the club and wait for the doors to open.
After another few minutes we finally now we are inside the club. We go upstairs to get a good view for the first couple of bands. However, before the first band Fireball Ministry starts these fans beside us see Erik and get him to come upstairs and hang out with them for a bit. Unfortunately we didnt get to talk to him cause he had to leave but it was cool just to see him hanging out with people all the same. Anyway Fireball Ministry then starts up and let me tell you they were a really good opening band. I definitely suggest all who read this check them out if you haven't heard them yet. They were really good. They were the only band there that I am going to buy their cd. They reminded me of Black Sabbath. The other bands Jersey and No Motiv were pretty good as well but didn't have the same impact. The music they played was good too though. They were worth checking out at least.
Anyway after what seemed like an eternity.. it is finally Andrews set... so Jenn and I decide to make our way downstairs to the stage and we sort of go off to the side. We would have gone in the moshpit but we would of gotten ourselves killed in there...it was nuts so we decided against it and just did our own thing side stage.
And let me tell you the set was wicked! They played a lot of their older stuff from I GET WET and quite a bit from THE WOLF as well. Mostly the harder stuff like PARTY TIL YOU PUKE and I LOVE NYC but of course it was changed to I LOVE SEATTLE. The crowd went nuts for that... the moshing in there was just amazing. They also did NEVER LET DOWN but that was about as ballad like as it got. The place was so packed and so that made the crowd even more intense. The show like I said was just amazing.
By the end everyone was onstage and the guards had basically given up trying to stop people from jumping up. And as most of you know... for the most part the fans are really friendly...if you get pushed over or something someone is always there to help you up. Its a good crowd with a good energy to it Or if you wanted to take a picture people would move out of the way so that you could have a better view and that type of thing. Ok sorry got sidetracked... on with it...after the show Jenn and I made our way outside to where a small group of people were waiting by the bus. Andrew then made his way out there and told us that he just had to go get changed and stuff and then he would be right out to do autographs and talk to us. So we waited about 20 minutes to half hour (and met some really nice and cool people...and also some different ones as well) and sure enough he came out to hang out with us for a little bit. We only got to spend a little bit of time with him this time but he basically asked how things were going...and I got him to sign an autograph for my friend Holly in New Zealand. He thought that was really neat. We also told him we were at the Vancouver show as well which was just a couple of weeks before and that it was my friend Jenns second time seeing the show and now she was hooked hehe. But because of certain circumstances we couldnt stay very long to talk to him and we said our Goodbyes to him and thanked him for always putting on such a good show.
I have been to many shows already and each one is a special memory that will never be forgotten. So that is the whole spiel and I really hope you enjoyed reading this as much as I enjoyed writing it. It was a great time had by all and although many of you have been to many of his concerts...if you havent yet for whatever reason...I really suggest that you do! It is so amazing that it can't be expressed in mere words. The thing that is the best feeling in the world is just knowing there will be another show sometime in the near future! .
